Running Multiple Apex Trader Funding Accounts on NinjaTrader 8

The Q-My-Trade setup guide · Last updated: 26 October 2026

Quick answer: To run multiple Apex Trader Funding accounts on NinjaTrader 8 with Q-My-Trade, run your evaluations as one master in COPY ALL and your funded Performance Accounts as a second master in ROTATE, so both take every signal. Set each account’s MAX LOSS to Apex’s daily loss limit minus your largest single-trade stop, because caps stop new trades but don’t close open ones. BUY NOW

If you are running more than one Apex Trader Funding account on NinjaTrader 8, you already know the problem. Your signal fires, and you have to manually work through each account, hoping nothing moves before you get the last one filled. One distraction, one missed click, one account left flat while the others are running, and your portfolio results are no longer consistent.

Q-My-Trade solves this. One signal, every eligible Apex account entered and managed automatically. But with Apex overhauling their entire programme on March 1, 2026, the configuration details matter more than ever. This guide covers exactly how to set up Q-My-Trade for the new Apex 4.0 accounts (EOD and Intraday), including how to calculate the right daily loss cap for each account size.

⚠  Do Q-My-Trade loss caps close open trades?

Read this before configuring anything.

What a Q-My-Trade loss cap does: When an account’s realised P&L for the session reaches your MAX LOSS threshold, Q-My-Trade marks that account as LOSS_CAP and excludes it from all future entries for the rest of the session. No new trades will be opened on that account.

What a Q-My-Trade loss cap does not do: It does not close any open position. If the account is already in a trade when the cap triggers, or if a single trade loses more than the cap value, that position continues to run until your signal closes it or you close it manually. Q-My-Trade has no kill switch.

What this means for Apex accounts: Setting your MAX LOSS cap at the Apex Daily Loss Limit does not guarantee your account stays within that limit. If you are in an open trade when the cap triggers and that trade continues to move against you, your total session loss can exceed the DLL. The cap stops the next entry. It cannot stop an existing position.

The correct approach: Your Q-My-Trade loss cap and your signal strategy’s per-trade stop loss work as a system, not independently. The cap controls how much accumulated session loss triggers a halt. Your stop loss controls the maximum any single trade can lose. Set both, and set them so their combination stays within Apex’s limits. The calculation section below explains how.

What changed in Apex 4.0?

Before March 2026, Apex operated on monthly subscriptions, a real-time intraday trailing drawdown on all accounts, and a set of rules (the MAE rule, the 5:1 RR restriction, the 30% consistency cap) that made running multiple accounts genuinely complicated.

All of that is gone.

From March 1, 2026, every new Apex account operates under 4.0 rules. Here is what matters for NinjaTrader traders managing multiple accounts:

  • Two drawdown models: End-of-Day (EOD) Trailing Drawdown or Intraday Trailing Drawdown
  • No MAE rule: open-trade drawdown no longer ends accounts
  • No recurring fees: one-time payment per evaluation
  • Up to 20 Performance Accounts at the same time
  • No evaluation consistency rule: you can pass in a single day
  • 50% consistency rule on PAs only: no single day can exceed 50% of total PA profit at payout time. Check your own days with our free consistency rule calculator.
  • Mandatory bracket orders enforced at the platform level on Rithmic

Legacy accounts (purchased before March 1, 2026) still run under the old rules. Everything in this guide applies to new Apex 4.0 accounts.

What’s the difference between Apex EOD and Intraday accounts?

The single most important decision when buying an Apex 4.0 evaluation is which drawdown model to choose. The choice is permanent for that evaluation and the two models behave very differently, including how you should think about your Q-My-Trade loss cap on each.

EOD Trailing Drawdown Accounts

The trailing threshold updates once per day at market close (4:59:59 PM ET) based on your end-of-day balance. That new threshold is then enforced intraday during the next session. If your balance touches the EOD threshold during the session, the account closes immediately.

EOD accounts also include a Daily Loss Limit (DLL). If you lose the DLL amount in a single session, trading is paused for the rest of that day, but the account stays alive. You return the next day at your current balance. The DLL is a session speed bump. The EOD trailing threshold is the cliff.

The DLL is the key anchor number for Q-My-Trade configuration on EOD accounts, but see the cap calculation section below before setting it.

Intraday Trailing Drawdown Accounts

The trailing threshold updates in real time as your peak balance rises, including unrealised profits. If your account hits a new intraday high and then gives it back, the threshold has already moved up. There is no Daily Loss Limit on Intraday accounts: the only floor is the trailing threshold itself.

On Intraday accounts there is no fixed session limit to peg to, so your Q-My-Trade loss cap needs to be set conservatively below the trailing drawdown amount, leaving enough buffer that even an open trade running against you after the cap triggers cannot reach the trailing floor.

What are the Apex 4.0 drawdown and daily loss limits?

Use this table to understand Apex’s limits per account size. The next section explains how to turn these numbers into your Q-My-Trade MAX LOSS setting.

Account SizeTrailing DrawdownEOD Daily Loss LimitMax Contracts (Evaluation)
$25K$1,000$5004
$50K$2,000$1,0006
$100K$3,000$1,5008
$150K$4,000$2,00012

Intraday accounts have no DLL: the trailing drawdown is the only floor. Figures from Apex’s EOD evaluation rules, checked October 2026. Funded Performance Accounts have lower contract limits (2, 4, 6 and 10). Apex can change these at any time.

How do you calculate the right loss cap for an Apex account?

Because Q-My-Trade’s loss cap does not close open positions, setting it at the Apex DLL is not enough on its own. The correct approach accounts for the maximum loss a single open trade can produce after the cap triggers.

The formula:

Q-My-Trade MAX LOSS  =  Apex DLL  −  maximum single-trade stop loss risk

Example ($50K EOD account):

  • Apex DLL: $1,000
  • Your strategy’s maximum stop loss per trade: $200
  • Set Q-My-Trade MAX LOSS to: $800

Why this works: If your session losses reach $800, Q-My-Trade halts new entries. If you are still in an open trade at that moment and it hits its $200 stop, your total session loss is $1,000, exactly at the DLL, not over it.

What happens if you set the cap at the DLL itself ($1,000): If you have an open trade when the cap triggers and it then loses another $200 before closing, your session loss reaches $1,200, over the DLL, despite the cap being set in good faith.

For Intraday accounts:

There is no DLL to anchor to, so use the trailing drawdown value as your ceiling, apply the same formula, and add a safety buffer on top. On a $50K Intraday account with a $2,000 trailing drawdown and a $200 max stop:

MAX LOSS  =  $2,000  −  $200 (max stop)  −  $300 (buffer)  =  $1,500

The safety buffer on Intraday accounts matters more because the trailing threshold is actively moving, unlike the EOD threshold which is fixed for the session.

The bottom line: Know your per-trade maximum risk before setting any cap. If your strategy does not have a defined maximum stop loss per trade, Q-My-Trade’s loss cap cannot protect your account reliably regardless of what value you enter.

Tip: Start more conservatively than the formula suggests. Run a few live cycles, see how your strategy’s actual trade losses distribute, then adjust. It is always easier to widen a cap than to recover a breached Apex account.

How should you set up Apex evaluations in Q-My-Trade?

If you are running multiple Apex evaluations simultaneously, trying to pass 5, 10, or even 20 challenges at the same time, Q-My-Trade’s COPY ALL mode is the correct configuration.

In COPY ALL mode, every eligible account in the sub-group trades simultaneously on the same signal. When the signal closes, all accounts close together. If any account has hit its daily loss cap, it is automatically excluded from that session. The rest trade as normal.

This setup suits Apex 4.0’s rules. With up to 20 PAs allowed at the same time and evaluations you can pass in a single day, an efficient approach is to run as many evaluations as possible in parallel, give them all the same signal, and let Q-My-Trade manage the account exclusions automatically.

Evaluation sub-group setup in Q-My-Trade:

  1. Create a Master Group watching your signal account
  2. Add a sub-group set to COPY ALL mode
  3. Add all your Apex evaluation accounts to the sub-group
  4. Set a MAX LOSS cap per account using the formula above: DLL minus your max single-trade risk
  5. Leave MAX WIN unconfigured during evaluations. Let them run until they pass

How should you set up Apex Performance Accounts?

Once your evaluations pass and you are trading live Performance Accounts, the configuration changes. Apex PAs have a 50% consistency rule: no single trading day can account for more than 50% of your total profits since your last payout.

This is where Q-My-Trade’s ROTATE mode becomes the correct choice.

In ROTATE mode, one account trades per signal, cycling through the pool in sequence. Each account builds its own independent trade history, its own profit balance, and its own payout eligibility. The consistency rule applies per account: rotating through a pool of PAs distributes trading activity across accounts naturally, rather than concentrating it.

A funded account that hits its MAX WIN cap is automatically stepped out of rotation for the session. A funded account that hits its MAX LOSS cap is also stepped out. The cycle continues with the next eligible account.

Funded PA sub-group setup in Q-My-Trade:

  • Add a second Master Group with its own signal account (run your strategy on a second signal account, such as Sim102), and give it a sub-group set to ROTATE mode
  • Add your funded Apex PAs to this sub-group
  • Set a MAX WIN per account: conservative daily targets that protect consistency ratios
  • Set a MAX LOSS per account using the formula above
  • Rotation advances automatically after each trade closes

Can you run evaluations and funded accounts from one signal?

This is where Q-My-Trade V2’s architecture shows its real value.

Yes, with two masters. Sub-groups under one master take turns: the first trade goes to Sub-Group 1, the next to Sub-Group 2. To have your evaluations and funded PAs take every signal, run them as two masters: your strategy on two signal accounts (for example Sim101 and Sim102), with a COPY ALL group of evaluations on one and a ROTATE group of funded PAs on the other. Every signal then goes to all your eligible evaluations and to the next eligible funded account in rotation, and you manage both from a single panel. Each master can even trade a different instrument or prop firm.

Many trade copiers can’t do this. It needs per-account caps and COPY ALL and ROTATE groups running side by side.

Does Q-My-Trade work with Apex’s mandatory bracket orders?

Apex 4.0 enforces mandatory bracket orders at the Rithmic platform level. Any discretionary order submitted without an attached stop-loss and take-profit is rejected.

Q-My-Trade works with Apex 4.0 EOD accounts on NinjaTrader 8 via Rithmic without issues. Follower entries execute correctly on live funded accounts. The bracket requirement is handled at the signal level: because your signal strategy already trades with stops and targets attached, the fill events Q-My-Trade mirrors are already within a bracketed position context.

The configuration we recommend regardless of whether you use Q-My-Trade: set up an NinjaTrader ATM Strategy with a bracket template and enable Auto mode so brackets attach to every position by default.

To set this up in NinjaTrader 8:

  • Open the Chart or Order Entry panel for your Apex account
  • Configure an ATM Strategy template with your standard stop and target distances
  • Enable Auto mode so the bracket attaches to every new position automatically

What should MAX WIN be on an Apex Performance Account?

The MAX WIN setting in Q-My-Trade halts an account for the session once it reaches your defined daily profit target. For Apex PAs there are two reasons to set this thoughtfully:

  1. Consistency rule protection. If one account has a large winning day it could push that account’s single-day contribution over 50% of cumulative profits, blocking a payout request. A sensible MAX WIN prevents this.
  2. Drawdown protection. After a strong profit day the EOD trailing threshold ratchets up. Stopping the account at a defined target prevents giving back a hard-earned high-water mark.

As a starting point, a MAX WIN of 50–60% of the trailing drawdown value is a reasonable range. On a $50K EOD account with a $2,000 trailing drawdown, a MAX WIN of $1,000–$1,200 is worth considering, but the right number depends on your strategy’s average winning day, which only you know.
