Prop Firm Consistency Rule Calculator
A prop firm consistency rule limits how much of your profit can come from a single day: your best day’s profit, divided by your total profit, must be no more than the firm’s percentage (for example 40%). To calculate it, divide your largest winning day by your total net profit; if the result is above the limit, you need more total profit (from days no bigger than your best day) before you can pass or request a payout.
Use the calculator below to check your own numbers. Pick your firm and plan, enter your daily P&L, and it shows your best day as a percentage, whether you’re within the rule, how much more profit you need, and the most you could make on your next day without breaking it.

The formula used
Best day % = best single day’s profit / total profit × 100. You meet the rule when that is no more than your firm’s percentage.
Total needed = best day / rule %. More needed = total needed − total so far.
Most on your next day = rule % × total / (1 − rule %). A bigger day becomes your new best day and pushes you over.
Losing days lower your total, so they raise your best day %. Amounts you still need are rounded up to the cent; the most you can make is rounded down. Some firms measure from the start of the account, others since your last payout, and at exactly the limit check your firm’s wording.

Running several prop accounts? Refine-My-Trade can model prop firm rules, including a consistency limit, on your own recorded trades, simulated day by day (it never places or changes an order). Q-My-Trade’s per-account win and loss caps stop new copies to an account once it reaches the limit you set; they don’t close open positions or guarantee firm compliance. See how Q-My-Trade works.
How to use the calculator
- Pick your firm and plan. The percentage fills in from the firm’s own rule page (linked under the menu, with the date we checked it). If your firm or plan isn’t listed, choose Custom % and type the percentage.
- Enter your daily P&L, one row per trading day, with a minus sign for losing days. You can also paste a list: one number per line, or separated by commas.
- Check what counts. If your rule resets after each payout (Apex PA, LucidPro, Tradeify funded, Alpha Futures Qualified), enter only the days since your last payout.
- Add your profit target (optional) to see the target and the rule together, plus the largest-day planning figure some firms give (target × rule %).
- Read the result: PASS or NOT YET, your best day %, the extra profit you still need, and the most you could make on your next day.

Frequently asked questions
What is a consistency rule in a prop firm?
It’s a cap on how much of your total profit can come from one trading day. If a firm has a 40% rule, your best day can be no more than 40% of your total profit. Firms use it to see steady results rather than one large day. At the firms we checked, going over the limit isn’t a breach: you keep trading until your total profit is large enough.
How do you calculate the consistency rule?
Divide your best single day’s profit by your total profit and multiply by 100. For example, a $1,200 best day on $3,000 total profit is 40%. To find the total you need, divide your best day by the rule: at 30%, $1,200 ÷ 0.30 = $4,000, so you’d need $1,000 more, made on days no bigger than $1,200. Losing days lower your total, so they raise your percentage.
Do losing days count toward the consistency rule?
At the firms we checked, the rule is measured against your total (net) profit, so a losing day reduces the total and pushes your best day percentage up. Your best day itself stays the same. Some firms also count from your last payout, not from the start of the account.
Does the consistency rule reset after a payout?
At some firms it does. LucidPro says “The Consistency Percentage resets and must be met again after each payout”, Tradeify says it resets after an approved payout, and Alpha Futures measures profit since your last withdrawal request on Qualified accounts. Check your firm’s page for your plan.
Does MyFundedFutures, Lucid, Tradeify, Bulenox or TradeDay have a consistency rule?
Yes, on some plans. MyFundedFutures has 30% (Rapid EOD) or 50% (Rapid, Pro) in evaluations and 50% in Builder sim funded. Lucid has 40% on LucidFlex evaluations and LucidPro payouts. Tradeify has 35% on Growth sim funded, 40% on Select evaluations and 20-30% on Lightning payouts. TradeDay has 30% (QuickPay) or 45% (FastPass) in evaluations. Bulenox lists 35% per payout cycle for Momentum Master. See the table for each plan.
Which prop firms have no consistency rule?
Several plans have none at one stage or another: Apex evaluations, LucidFlex funded accounts, MyFundedFutures Pro One Day and Builder evaluations, Tradeify Growth evaluations and Select funded accounts, the Bulenox Momentum stage, and Alpha Futures Zero evaluations and Advanced Qualified accounts. A plan without a consistency rule usually has other conditions instead, so read the full rules.
Running several prop accounts?
When the same signal goes to several accounts, each account is judged on its own rules, including its own consistency percentage. Refine-My-Trade can model prop firm rules, including a consistency limit, on your own recorded trades, simulated day by day for evaluation and funded accounts (it never places or changes an order). Q-My-Trade’s per-account win and loss caps stop new copies to an account once it reaches the limit you set; they don’t close open positions or guarantee firm compliance. See how Q-My-Trade works.
